Our Neighbourhood
At the heart of Dublin
While The Chancery is situated in a neighbourhood steeped in history it’s also ideally located for those interested in the events that Dublin attracts in the here and now. If it’s happening we’re pretty much at the heart of it.
Music and Concerts in Dublin
If you’re a live music fan or following your favourite band on tour you’ll be spoiled for choice with legendary venues such as Whelan’s, Vicar St and The 3Olympia Theatre attracting some of the best modern artists out there. All are right on your doorstep, with bigger spaces such as The Aviva Stadium and 3Arena just a 15 minute cab-ride away.
Theatre and Performance in Dublin
Dublin is the city of Wilde and Beckett, the place where Yeats (with Lady Gregory) founded the Abbey Theatre. The storied Gate Theatre is just across the river. If ‘the play’s the thing’ you’ll find renowned productions for the highest of brows to the silliest of pantomimes with plenty of musicals to boot. Just exit stage left or right from the lobby.
Sports in Dublin
The Aviva Stadium (just 15 minutes away) was built for rugby and you’ll find regular clashes of the very best in club, tournament and international team play. The state of the art facility also has also hosted the UEFA cup finals and is home turf for the national football (soccer) team. (COYBIG!).
If you’re up for the match you know what we mean but if you’re visiting from further afield – Croke Park Stadium (10 minutes away) is the historic home of the GAA – the governing body of our national sports. With a capacity of over 82,000 it is one of the largest in Europe and if you’re lucky enough to snag a ticket to an inter-county hurling match in Summer you’ll never forget it…
