St Stephen’s Green – Picturesque Dublin City Park
28 August 2023
St. Stephen’s Green one of Dublin’s most beloved public parks. Less than a ten-minute walk from the Chancery Hotel it is one of the largest parks in Dublin’s grand Georgian squares. Others include nearby Merrion Square and Fitzwilliam Square (not open to the public).
‘The Green’ as we locals call it, features an ornamental waterfall and pond with swans and ducks, a decorative boat house, a lovely band-stand and a great little children’s playground. There are also some interesting sculptures dotted around the park. Look out for the bust of James Joyce, facing his one-time university at Newman House (which now houses the Museum of Literature) Beautiful mature trees and pretty seasonal planting make St. Stephen’s Green an oasis year round.
